Why Choose Live Bee Removal?
Honey bees pollinate many of the fruits, vegetables and flowers that grow in South Florida. A single colony holds thousands of working bees. When it can be saved, it’s worth saving.
Live bee removal is also better for your home. Bees that are relocated alive, along with their comb, don’t leave behind a dying colony inside your wall. You get the bees gone and the space cleaned out in one visit.
We explain more about our approach in why we choose ethical bee relocation over extermination.
What Live Honey Bee Removal Involves
Live honey bee removal takes more care than spraying, and that’s the point. There are two main types of jobs.
Swarms
A swarm is a ball of bees hanging on a branch, fence or eave while scouts look for a new home. Swarms haven’t built comb yet, so live bee removal is usually simple: we gently gather the cluster into a box, making sure the queen goes in too. See one of our jobs: a bee swarm under a palm tree.
Established colonies
Once bees move into a wall, roof, soffit, tree, water meter or cable box, they build honeycomb. Live honey bee removal then becomes a “cut-out.” We open the space, cut out the comb piece by piece, secure the brood comb into frames, and collect the bees. The colony goes into a hive box and is relocated. Here’s an example: live bee removal from a front yard.

Cutting out comb by hand so the colony can be saved.A low-suction bee vacuum gently collects the bees so they can be relocated.
When Live Bee Removal Isn’t Possible
We’ll always be honest with you. Live bee removal is our first choice, but sometimes it isn’t safe or practical. That can happen when:
The colony has already been sprayed with pesticide.
The comb is in a spot we can’t reach without major damage.
The colony is extremely defensive and is putting people or animals at risk.
In those cases we offer bee extermination, followed by removing the comb and honey so you don’t get leaks, odors or repeat swarms. We’ll explain the reasons before any work begins, and you make the call.
Africanized Honey Bees: What South Florida Homeowners Should Know
Africanized honey bees live throughout South Florida. You can’t tell them apart from other honey bees by looking. That’s not a reason to panic. Most bees you see are simply foraging, and many colonies stay calm when left alone.
Any colony will defend its home if disturbed, though, and Africanized colonies respond faster and in larger numbers. Until we get there:
Don’t spray, hit or plug the entrance.
Keep kids and pets away, and don’t run mowers or trimmers nearby.
If bees chase you, cover your face, run in a straight line and get inside a building or car. Don’t jump into water.
A very defensive colony is one of the situations where live honey bee removal may not be safe. Learn more on our Africanized bee removal page.

Live Honey Bee Removal FAQs
Can honey bees really be removed alive?
Yes. With the right equipment and care, the whole colony, including the queen, brood and comb, can be moved into a hive box and relocated.
Where do the bees go after live bee removal?
Relocated colonies are moved in hive boxes to a new home away from your property.
Do you offer free bee removal?
We offer free estimates. Because every job is different, we’ll inspect your situation and tell you exactly what’s involved before any work starts, with no surprises.
Is honeybee removal near me available in Spanish?
Yes. Hablamos Español. Call 786-554-0245 and ask for a Spanish-speaking team member.
What if I already sprayed the bees?
Tell us when you call. Sprayed colonies often can’t be relocated, but the comb and honey still need to come out to prevent leaks and new swarms.
Will the bees come back after live honey bee removal?
Not if the comb is removed and the entry points are sealed. That’s why we do both, and why our work comes with a 100-day guarantee.
